    JOB DESCRIPTION: Analyzes historical accounting data and other information to make projections which will aid management in short- and long-range financial planning. Coordinates action necessary to correct account balances and maintain proper accounting controls and procedures. Assists in year-end audits and in ensuring the accuracy of accounting data. Analyzes financial statements and prepares and analyzes financial reports to represent current and projected financial status. Projects future trends and prepares long-range operational forecasts and cash flow analysis. May assist in preparing, developing and monitoring budgets. May perform indirect cost analysis. Performs related responsibilities as required.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in accounting, business management, finance or a related field and four years of financial analysis or accounting experience, OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. DATE CREATED/MODIFIED/REVIEWED: 06/07/06 AMM

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Self-motivated, dependable, responsible, honest and able to work independently
    • Experience with complex grant management and analysis, proficiency in PeopleSoft Financials and Business Intelligence tools
    • Experience with federal and private grants
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

    Additional Details

    ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Analyst will need to complete Compass/Financial Management Process training within the first month.  The financial analyst will lead or assist in major activities including financial reporting, contracting and invoicing, audit requirements, budget management and forecasting and site support. The financial analyst will maintain requirements for on-time financial reporting, map requirements to subcontractor reporting, develop financial reporting tools, and help develop reports for sponsors and others as needed. Other major activities will include ensuring compliance with federal and sponsor regulations, providing technical assistance to 13 sites (and growing) including training (requires international travel ~10%), ensuring timely invoicing and payment to for subcontracts, conducting fiscal audits, assisting with budget development and management for program and subcontracts. Analyst will potentially work in Mozambique, Nigeria, Colombia, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cambodia or Zambia.
