JOB DESCRIPTION: The Senior Director of Operations over the Child Health and Mortality Prevention Surveillance (CHAMPS) program, is a senior management position within the Global Health Institute. Reporting to the Principal Investigator, who is the Executive Director of the CHAMPS program, the Senior Director of Operations (CHAMPS), will work with both internal and external stakeholders to establish, drive, and improve program objectives in accordance with the programs mission, vision and values. This position is an integral part of the organization, leveraging cutting-edge scientific techniques, a diverse array of subject matter experts, and passionate like-minded individuals who are dedicated to an inspiring public health mission. The Senior Director of Operations (CHAMPS) is responsible for implementing all operational areas of the Program Office within the CHAMPS Network and instilling operational discipline and accountability across the team. Ensuring financial integrity and accountability, maintaining internal controls, ensuring technical and operational functions run smoothly and acting as the representative of the program as needed. The Senior Director of Operations (CHAMPS) establishes and maintains high-level relationships with donors, partners, and other stakeholders of the program, both internal and external to Emory University. This role is responsible for overseeing and reporting grant funds and ensuring that CHAMPS is meeting its intended mission and objectives. This role is responsible for ensuring that the CHAMPS team is delivering on the mission in the most efficient way with the most effective use of resources which includes designing and refining KPIs and metrics that drive accountability across the program. Performs related responsibilities as assigned. This position is grant funded.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in related discipline (public policy, business, program management, development practice, etc.) and 10 years of program management experience required. Five to seven years of experience must include leading matrix organizations and cross functional teams, financial management, non-profit program management, and knowledge of scientific programs (e.g., lab biotech) and process management. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high priority projects is required.
