    JOB DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Chief Performance Officer of Enterprise Performance and Data Analytics, the Senior Data Analyst of Data Analytics and Performance will be an integral part of the Enterprise Data Analytics and Performance team in the Finance Division. Uses large disparate data sets to find opportunities for financial and process optimization and uses models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. Work includes the use of data mining/data analysis methods, data tools, building and implementing models, creating algorithms and creating/running simulations. Projects into the future, weighs various scenarios and tailors complex theoretical information to produce proactive insights on key metrics and business questions. Partners proactively with key stakeholders to anticipate and answer questions to provide pre-emptive answers to school and unit business leaders, the CFO and Emory Leadership. Provides decision support for special projects and initiatives. Approaches problems from different perspectives to suggest and implement solutions. Creates forecasting, predictive and scenario based models and analysis to inform enterprise business decisions, process optimization and performance insights. Provides reports and presents to key audiences to assist with financial reporting and operational decision making. Simplifies and effectively explains complex financial and business performance data to benefit CFO, Emory Leadership, and Board of Trustees decision making. Leverages data visualization tools resents the story that the data is telling. Supports the production of performance and management reporting. Leverages business intelligence and visualization tools to facilitate timely and accurate financial management reporting. Assists in the design and development of financial and operational analysis and reporting leveraging internal and external data, business intelligence tools and statistical and analytical techniques. Enhances and continuously improves management reporting. Performs related responsibilities as required.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in economics, mathematics, statistics, or quantitative field and five years of demonstrated experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Superior statistical and analytical skills. Demonstrated experience and knowledge and experience in areas of research design, statistical analysis, quantitative and research methods required. Experience using large data sets to find opportunities for financial and process optimization and using models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action is strongly preferred. Adept at using logic, statistical methods and reasoning to work through complex problems and analyze information. Proven ability to drive business results with data-based insights. Should have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams to improve business outcomes. Demonstrated ability to develop a story with data. Experience with data collection methods, sampling, and data analysis and report preparation desirable. Demonstrated experience with statistical software and computer languages (e.g., R, Python, etc.), graphical software (Excel), database query languages (SQL), as well as visualization and reporting tools (Oracle Data Visualizer, OBIEE, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, etc.) strongly preferred. Experience with PeopleSoft, Banner, Workday or other ERP systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.
