    Under the direction of the Senior Director of Admission and Financial Aid, the Admission Advisor is responsible for implementing recruitment initiatives in accordance with the mission of Emory Law. The Admission Advisor will predominately focus on non-JD graduate programs but will be cross-trained and expected to participate in the recruitment and admission effort for all programs within the Emory Law admission team.


    The Admission Advisor maintains communication with prospective students and applicants via telephone, email, and/or video-conference through all stages of the recruitment and admissions process. The Admission Advisor also assists in planning, organizing, and implementing admission events and programs, both on and off campus, attends national law fairs and forums, and coordinates the recruitment travel schedule. The Admission Advisor may occasionally travel internationally to attend recruiting events. The successful candidate will be an articulate, results-driven, dynamic team player with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to interact well with a diverse community of students, faculty, and staff.


    FORMAL JOB DESCRIPTION: Recruits students by traveling to high schools and college recruitment fairs. Reviews, analyzes, and rates applications of students applying for admission. Conducts information sessions for visiting students and parents, and may conduct campus tours. Assists in coordinating alumni volunteer activities. May review and edit financial aid forms. Composes correspondence, and designs and generates reports. Maintains communication via telephone, correspondence, and/or electronic mail with prospective students through all stages of the recruitment and admission process. Performs related responsibilities as required.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

    Additional Details


    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


    • Counseling prospective, admitted, waitlisted, transfer, and transient students across all Emory Law programs
    • Conducting webinars to educate international students about Emory Law and help implement new efforts of outreach for international students
    • Organizing and implementing all facets of individual and group campus visits, including: planning, outreach, information sessions, campus tours, student panels, class observations, etc.
    • Reviewing and evaluating admission applications
    • Conducting applicant interviews via video-conference, telephone and in-person
    • Developing and maintaining relationships with students including follow up on application documents, admissions decisions, I-20 process, registration and orientation
    • Assisting in the planning, organization, and implementation of admission and new student orientation events, both on and off campus
    • Assisting with marketing and communication campaigns
    • Coordinating travel logistics related to student recruitment
    • Recruiting at LSAC forums, university fairs, panel discussions, and campus events
    • Assisting with data maintenance – this includes learning databases such as Aces2, Radius, and OPUS
    • Assisting with post-deposit yielding efforts, including frequent communication particularly for JM students 
    • Assisting with the Student Ambassador Program
    • Assisting with social media and website content maintenance
    • Preforming related duties and responsibilities as assigned


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • A Bachelor’s degree is required, JD or Master’s preferred
    • Prior admission or higher education experience is preferred, especially working with international students
    • Prior non-JD program law school admission experience is preferred
    • Foreign language skills are preferred
    • Excellent organizational, time management, problem solving, and communication skills 
    • Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends on occasional basis
