    JOB DESCRIPTION: Works directly with researchers to document, analyze, and translate their needs into technical designs and informatics solutions, including data models, databases, and applications in accordance with user needs. Analyzes experimental data and performs structure activity analyses to generate predictive correlations. Applies a range of molecular modeling tools to refinement of experimental hits. Serves as a database consultant to users. Is responsible for the structural integrity of databases, the structural design and implementation of in-house database files and related systems, and the development of system documentation. Designs and maintains a departmental website. May conduct training sessions and provide support on internet publishing courses, other software, and computer equipment usage. Performs other related duties as needed.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree and three years of experience supporting technology in a clinical, research or health industry or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Demonstrated expertise in translating business requirements into technical solutions, extracting and manipulating data and implementing quality controls. DATE CREATED/MODIFIED/REVIEWED: 09/10/10 GG

    Preferred Qualifications:


    • Windows experience
    • Experience with cross-sectional imaging
    • Knowledge of computer networks, radiology information systems and PACS from a user standpoint
    • Ability to learn multiple image analysis applications.
    • Familiarity with assessment criteria for oncology clinical trials
    • Certificate/degree in Radiology Imaging Technology and related experience. Experience with CT technology.

    Required skills are:

    • Anatomical knowledge required
    • Good communication and organizational skills
    • 1-2 years of experience in clinical trials research or radiology


    Additional Job Details:


    Data Analysis: Under the guidance of radiologists, senior analyst, referring clinicians, corporate sponsors, Principal Investigators and Project Manager, the incumbent performs 2D or 3D image analysis according to trial protocol with appropriate documentation and archival of the final product. Incumbent will work primarily on image analysis for the PIM software, involving quantitative, longitudinal tracking of tumor size.

    Data Management: Locates and transfers image data from local PACS archives to computer workstations for analysis. Accesses hospital and radiology information systems to validate patient studies. Organizes and uploads measurement results and new image data sets to the appropriate database or PACS. Maintains effective working relations and communication with departmental staff and research teams.

    Documentation: Maintains documentation of research projects.
