    Oxford College of Emory University is currently seeking candidates for the position of Library Specialist to work late night hours. Primary responsibilities include support of circulation, interlibrary loan, electronic reserves, technical services, and information desk.

    *That you are aware that Oxford College is located 38 miles east of Atlanta and willing to relocate or commute to the Oxford College Campus in Oxford, GA which is 40 miles east of the main Emory University campus in Atlanta

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    Experience with and knowledge of computers, library systems, and OCLC is highly preferred. Microcomputer skills (PC, Mac, Microsoft Suite, etc.) are essential to perform required duties. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and flexibility for changing work responsibilities are essential. Candidates must display evidence of the ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.

    Eligible for evening and weekend shift differential.

     

    Flexibility will be essential with regular work hours scheduled from 3pm-12midnight, Sunday-Thursday. This position is full time 40 hours per week.

    FORMAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

    • Performs a variety of complex library services and operations requiring a specialized knowledge.
    • May process, verify and change bibliographic information online. Handles requests for borrowing and lending library materials.
    • Performs bibliographic management activities such as searches, checking the series and name authority files, and reviewing cataloging records.
    • Provides research assistance and answers complex research requests. Interprets library policies, handles specialized materials and instructs users in the use of internal and external information resources.
    • Creates permanent machine-readable bibliographic and authority records. Sets-up, operates and maintains audio-visual and television equipment.
    • Searches databases to determine the availability of materials, oversees receipt/check-in of materials, and organizes/prepares materials for binding.
    • May hire, train, supervise and evaluate student or general staff. May monitor and direct workflow in assigned areas.
    • Performs related responsibilities as required.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • A bachelor's degree in a related field.
    • Two years related experience.
    • May require computer skills, special skills or proficiency in a foreign language.
