Develops innovative admissions strategies for graduate admission programs in the Goizueta Business School (GBS) which consider predictive analytics, trends, market data, financial and scholarship constraints with a goal of expanding the candidate pool with viable candidates. Recommends the Graduate Program Class Profile goals to review committee designated by the Dean. Identifies strategies to create new paths to leverage corporations, not-for-profits, military and other organizations to generate candidate interest. Assigns staff for effective follow-up. Defines appropriate metrics and accountabilities to help staff have clarity in expected goals and deliverables.
Communicates and enforces values, policies, and procedures. Designs recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs. Sets expectations for effective performance management, and manages compensation strategies. Develops strategy for effectively awarding limited scholarship funds to yield candidates. Develops organizational strategies for admissions by contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction. Establishes functional objectives consistent with organizational objectives. Supports efforts to ensure that information systems uphold overall organizational missions and objectives. Analyzes enrollment results, and makes adjustments to recruiting plans in order to achieve targets. Works with the Chief Business, Analytics & Operations Officer to develop admissions financial strategies by estimating, forecasting, and anticipating requirements, trends, and variance.
Aligns monetary resources, develops action plan and measures and analyzes results; initiates corrective actions and minimizes the impact of variances. Evaluates recruitment techniques by determining the effectiveness of each prospect engagement technique used by admissions. Discerns the appeal of admissions literature, and defines the expectations of the college to be instilled in incoming students by the admissions staff. Assists in developing, implementing and evaluating prospect engagement strategies and recruiting events for a professional school. Develops a profile of students attracted to the business school by conducting research and focus groups.
Represents the School to prospective students and the general public with the highest degree of professionalism through an array of outreach programs and activities. Develops and maintains relationships with applicants, admitted and current students. Reviews applications for admission, provides comments, and assigns an admissions rating to each application. Makes strategic recommendations on who should remain on the wait list to help achieve the desired class profile goals. Makes final decisions on which applicants to accept, refer, reject, or put on the waiting list. Working closely with the marketing department, participates in strategy development, and reviews and approves all program print material. Ensures a high level of constituent satisfaction by monitoring the delivery of ongoing information systems to the enterprise. Analyzes trends in enrollment and marketing activities, leading activities to continue programs that are effective; modifies programs to present new strategies for recruitment and admission activities. Creates metrics to align staff actions with the defined plan. Identifies solutions for improving performance, as needed.
Keeps management apprised of key performance indicators, identifies cost-effective solutions; may authorize expenditures. Monitors or maintains budgets and grants, assists with budget development and prepares related expense reports and reimbursements. Reviews performance reports and supporting narratives for accuracy prior to submission to external agencies, donors or internal management. Maintains working relationships with other school departments. Works closely with the alumni office, the program offices, faculty, the Career Management Office and the Marketing department. Develops and manages efficient operations and policies for the admissions office. Ensures office activities comply with Emory policies and procedures through oversight and teaching best practices to team members.
Directs personal and professional growth of individuals on admissions staff in order to develop a consistently high-performing team for the School. Identifies continuous improvement opportunities to enhance quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes. Creates an environment that encourages staff to update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations. Master's degree, preferably in Business or Higher Education Administration, and 10 years of related experience in a business or educational environment. Doctorate in Higher Education Administration or related field is preferred. Work experience in a lead or supervisory capacity. MBA Admissions and/or recruiting work experience at a comparable institution strongly preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Strong written and oral communication skills, customer service skills and analytical skills. Demonstrated competency in a second language desirable.
