Considering the increase need for clinical surveillance of off campus students isolated at home due to COVID, this position will be integral to the team supporting these students. This position will be a temporary position to meet the needs of the students during the COVID response. As patient demand requires, this position will see patients both at the primary care/women’s health site and the COVID site for evaluation or testing.



  • Provides primary care to patients. Assists in the evaluation and treatment of patients.
  • Conducts patient interviews, and collects and interprets diagnostic data.
  • May perform physical examinations and specialized procedures under the direction of a physician. Documents the delivery of care in the individual's medical records.
  • Provides patient education and trains other health care professionals.
  • Virtually follow and assess students in isolation and quarantine.
  • Primary care and women’s health clinical care including procedures per credentials.
  • COVID assessment and testing clinic assignments.
  • Telehealth upon request
  • Duties as assigned by the Director of Clinical Services.
  • Attend daily huddles and designated provider meetings
  • On call and weekend coverage shared on a rotating basis amongst the providers.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.




  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Certified as a Nurse Practitioner. Licensed as a nurse and approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by the state of Georgia.
  • Two years of clinical nursing experience.


  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills especially under stressful situations experienced by young adults and their families; ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and departments in a complex and vibrant university and academic healthcare setting under unprecedented circumstance dictated by COVID; and competency in the use of electronic health records. Organizational skills needed to follow large numbers of students in isolation and quarantine.
  • Flexibility in meeting the needs of the students and the office during this dynamic response.


NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
