Description

Analyzes and reports on data and financial information to support leadership and decision-making. Supports financial leadership and management of OISP, which includes global, summer, online and other innovative high-impact programming. Reviews and consolidates financial performance. Develops, forecasts and analyzes budgets. Strategically manages and reports on budgets and enrollments across OISP programs and makes recommendations for business decisions. Oversees expense reconciliation and foreign payment processes. Supports development and administration of accounting policies, quality assurance, and expense reporting procedures. Serves as the departmental approver for transactions posted to multiple departmental and program accounts. Assists Emory Internal Audit with periodic reviews of OISP finances, policies and procedures. Monitors expenditures versus budget for all departmental accounts and prepares various financial reports for the Associate Dean and Sr. Business Manager. Directly supervises and supports accounting staff.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Analyzes historical accounting data and other information to make projections which will aid management in short- and long-range financial planning.
  • Coordinates action necessary to correct account balances and maintain proper accounting controls and procedures.
  • Assists in year-end audits and in ensuring the accuracy of accounting data.
  • Analyzes financial statements and prepares and analyzes financial reports to represent current and projected financial status. Projects future trends and prepares long-range operational forecasts and cash flow analysis.
  • May assist in preparing, developing and monitoring budgets.
  • May perform indirect cost analysis.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business management, finance or a related field and four years of financial analysis or accounting experience, OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in budgeting and accounting in an international and/or higher education setting is a plus.
  • Demonstrated organizational ability, attention to detail, and talent for multi-tasking.
  • Experience with managing direct reports.
  • Excellent interpersonal and intercultural skills and experience working with a variety of constituents.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft (including Compass Financial systems and OPUS) a plus.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed.  Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
