Responsible for managing overall building operations of Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing facilities.



  • Manages staff coverage for all faculty, staff, and student needs.
  • Manages the performance of work study students, helps students set goals, measures their progress towards goals, and supports their work efforts.
  • Serves as high-functioning Leader/Supervisor for Operations team; encourages professional development for all members of team.
  • Monitors conflict resolution in the workplace and among faculty and staff.
  • Ensures physical spaces within all three locations are clean, organized and have a standard appearance.
  • Implement SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) to document the most efficient and effective way to perform all required duties of operations staff.
  • Ensures that work study students and team members are competent in mission-critical functions and remedies deficiencies.
  • Addresses specific operational issues including recommendations and action plans towards their resolution.
  • Collaborates with the Assistant Dean in executing strategic initiatives. Independently manages projects from inception to completion.
  • Serves as an integral part of the Operations Management team consisting of Director of Operations and Operations Coordinators.
  • Serves as Project Manager for multiple concurrent operational projects, including collaboration with faculty and staff, operations team, contractors, and outside vendors.
  • Ensures that data and work requests in Tikkit system are accurate and up to date. Monitors and reports information to Director of Operations on a weekly basis.
  • Responsible for set-up and breakdown of all special events within the School of Nursing facilities.
  • Partners with Campus Services with larger events and manages delivery of their services; places staging orders as needed.
  • Ensures Building and Residential Services (BRS) are notified of special requests outside of daily routine. Leads operations team during set up, break down, and articulating needs for each event.
  • Reviews departmental budgets with Assistant Dean and plans future fiscal needs including Milner contractors and off-site storage usage.
  • Procures furniture, building supplies, keys, and office equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as required.


  • A bachelor's degree AND three years of operations experience in educational settings or a related field, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.



  • Any supervisory experience would be preferable, but is not required.


NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
