Description

The Assistant Manager of Planning, Design and Construction (PDC) Operations reports to the Associate Vice President of Planning, Design and Construction. This position will assist the Associate VP, Directors, Project Managers, and Program Managers in the design and construction of new and renovation projects on the Atlanta and Oxford campuses as well as other Emory facilities in the Atlanta area.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Works in collaboration with all key stakeholders including Project Managers, Program Managers, Campus Planners, and Interior Designers to develop and maintain industry metrics, best practice processes, and operational efficiencies, allowing the Project and Program Managers to focus on core responsibilities.
  • Supports all activities related to project administration including the development of scope documents, request for proposals, and other project-related documentation including communication and coordination with Emory's property insurance company regarding project design reviews.
  • Actively participates in initiatives that impact the department's operations and productivity.
  • Assists in developing and updating benchmarking, key performance indicators, department procedures, and the university Design & Construction Standards. Provides reports and graphics, and presentations in various software programs to illustrate data in support of the department leadership.
  • Coordinates project reporting updates. Serves as the department internal support for IT issues and maintenance.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the department website and the campus notification webpage.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, finance, construction management, or related field and two years of experience in business operations, OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Knowledge of statistics, business process development and construction management preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office.

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
