Description

The Department of Chemistry invites applicants with experience in (a) planning and maintaining laboratory spaces and (b) supporting undergraduate teaching laboratories. The successful applicant will have an aptitude for working effectively with a diverse community of faculty, staff, and students to solve problems and balance multiple demands.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

  • Coordinates construction scheduling and communication and acts as a liaison to project management concerning bids, subcontracting, progress and delays.
  • May be responsible for estimates, schedules, materials, and purchase orders.
  • Maintains files of all drawings, prints, tracings, blueprints, specifications and approvals for renovation projects.
  • Oversees the scheduling, coordination, and inspection of building projects; and does related work as required.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
  • Provides direction and prepares project and job specifications
  • Assists in evaluating bids for various building services projects.
  • Supervises large and complex alteration projects insuring conformance with plans and specifications.
  • Plans and schedules maintenance repairs.
  • Develops and coordinates a preventive maintenance program.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor's degree and three years experience in construction, engineering, architecture and/or coordinating large projects or events, OR an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.

 

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
