This individual will engage in the discovery and validation of novel candidate cancer genes and therapeutic targets for cancer using techniques such as CRISPR-Cas9 and other gene editing techniques. Some of the cancers involved include kidney and brain cancers such as Wilms Tumor and Atypical Teratoid/ Rhabdoid Tumor, as well as other rare pediatric cancers.   The successful candidate will perform DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, Western blotting, conventional and recombinational cDNA subcloning, cell and tissue culture, transfections viral-based gene transfer methods, and participate in high-throughput screening experiments with patient derived models. This position may require work with animals including surgical procedures.
