This is a Regular part-time (hourly) position for up to 10% FTE. Anticipate 2-5 hours per week, variable depending on FDA regulatory requirements for an ongoing IND-investigator/sponsor multi-center phase 3 clinical trial.

The Neuroimaging Core at the Marcus Autism Center, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University School of Medicine is seeking a highly qualified Research Scientist with an interest in imaging processing of infant magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The ideal candidate will have analytic/statistical skills to analyze infant MRI for image preprocessing, graph-theoretic network analysis and brain tissue segmentation.
Eligible candidate should have training in biomedical engineering, computer science/computer engineering or bioinformatics, with solid experience in MR imaging processing. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with a team of MRI scientists, social neuroscientists and pediatric neuroradiologists and to attend national or international conferences/workshops. The main job duties include i) developing processing pipelines for structural, diffusion and resting-state functional MRI data in infants; ii) assisting other Principal Investigators with developing algorithms for graph-theoretic analyses and brain tissue segmentation; and iii) involving in manuscript preparation and grant writing.

The Division of Palliative Medicine conducts clinical research studies to determine the impact of palliative interventions for people living with serious illness and their families. Current research addresses support for caregivers of people with cancer, early palliative care for individuals with lung cancer, and palliative care for adults with cystic fibrosis and their caregivers.
This position will support study operations and participant engagement for palliative care studies. This CRC will take primary responsibility for day to day operations of a new clinical trial and will support projects in the division by building and maintaining research databases (e.g. REDCap). Candidates must have proficiency in REDCap and Excel, and preferably basic statistical analysis skills. Ideal candidate will have familiarity with serious illness, experience with clinical research (e.g., participant recruitment, research operations, administering surveys, data entry) and have strong organizational skills. Ability to communicate proactively and effectively with study participants, team members, and clinicians is essential.
