This position is in the Department of Surgery in the Division of Transplant Immunology Research at the Emory Transplant Center in the laboratory of Dr. Christian P. Larsen. The department seeks a highly motivated individual with strong expertise in immunology to join us in investigating mechanisms of transplant rejection and immunologic tolerance. Our lab utilizes a variety of data science tools and integrated technologies to develop more effective co-stimulation blockers for near-term treatment of transplant patients and better strategies for long-term immune tolerance of transplanted organs. To accelerate our discovery, we are proceeding towards lab automation, investigating and designing workflows for cell separation, cell-based and molecular assays, FACS flow staining and transcriptomics. Candidates should highlight any skills with cell biology, flow cytometry, microarray, PCR technologies, next generation sequencing, or any of the Omics technologies needed to look at the differences in DNA, RNA, proteins, and other cellular molecules.  The candidate will serve a major role in developing and refining these processes.   This position will also require the candidate to serve as the biologist for a consortium of academic transplant centers, designing and developing mechanistic plans of action for clinical trials through the Immune Tolerance Network.
