The Emory Sports Fitness Camp (SFC) was founded in 1965 by members of the full-time teaching faculty in the Department of Physical Education. Their goal was to provide children with a fun and safe environment in which to foster a life-long appreciation for physical activity. Children today need physical activity more than ever! Thousands of children have benefitted from the program over the last 55 years and former campers now bring their children to the camp. SFC hosts approximately 60 children each week ages 5-12.   JOB DESCRIPTION: - Activity coordinators are responsible for facilitating sport-specific activities and games for campers ages 5-12. - Coordinators are expected to develop a curriculum for each day of camp appropriate for different age groups. - Additionally, coordinators are expected to support counselors in overall group management and to approach position creatively to ensure learning, development, and fun for campers. - Coordinators must be able to enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures. - Coordinators should have an understanding of appropriate guidance and discipline techniques for various ages which may be necessary during camp. HOURS: - Activity coordinators may be scheduled for 20-30 hours each week, depending on the needs of the camp and structure of activities. - Some planning meetings may be required ahead of time to prepare for training.
